Sheet music should be clearly marked, in key, and ready to go.

For performers working on dramatic pieces, a monologue which should be between 1 - 2 minutes.

Artists listen, give professional feedback, and guide the performer through a second pass — applying their notes in real-time.

How to Prepare:

To get the most out of your masterclass, performers should come ready:

With a small book/binder of well-prepared songs. For dramatic options, two monologues to perform, each monologue should be a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 2 minutes.

Monologues should be age appropriate.

Songs should be age- and type-appropriate, with clearly marked 16-bar and 32-bar cuts

Sheet music should be:

In the correct key

Hole-punched and double-sided

Organized in a binder — no loose pages, please.

Artists may request alternate material, so variety is encouraged.

Accompaniment:

Live piano accompaniment is preferred and expected for most audition-style masterclasses. However, in select cases, accompaniment tracks may be used with prior approval.
